Youth Accord Initiative

Youth Accord Initiative: student performers working to combat the growing epidemic of senior isolation. Seen time and time again within the senior demographic, feelings of isolation have devastating effects, gravely exacerbating existing mental and physical health conditions within the elderly.

By using music and performance as a device of connection—scientifically proven to have profoundly beneficial effects on health and spirit—and engaging with seniors on a consistent basis, not only are seniors able to foster meaningful interactions enduring relationships, but teenagers are able to become civically-immersed in their community, decreasing this pervasive problem in a holistic manner.
